Summer is Waconia's busiest season. The beach is open, the rentals are running, the farmers market meets every Thursday, and the Carver County Fair closes out the season in August. This guide covers the main things to plan around.

On the Water
The Lake Waconia Regional Park beach is open Memorial Day to Labor Day, with no lifeguards since 2024, so swim at your own risk. In Towne Marina downtown rents pontoons (renters must be 21+ with a Minnesota operator's permit or rental certificate), and Carver County rents kayaks, paddleboards and canoes at the park on weekends from roughly early June to mid-August. The DNR public access in the park has 36 trailer spaces.
Summer Events
The Waconia Farmers' Market meets Thursdays from 4 to 7pm at 224 W 1st St; the 2026 season runs June 4 to October 15. The Carver County Fair runs five days in August at the fairgrounds (August 11 to 15 in 2027). Schram Vineyards has live music nearly every weekend, and Sovereign Estate Wine has free live music on Fridays and Sundays.
Eating & Drinking Outside
Lola's Lakehouse on Lake Street has a patio with lake views. Iron Tap downtown has rooftop and patio seating in season. Sovereign Estate's lakefront patio, Schram's vineyard grounds overlooking Reitz Lake, and Parley Lake Winery's wrap-around deck cover the winery side.
