What's new and updated on WaconiaGuide. We update this page when we ship new guides, expand the directory, or improve the way the site works. Spotted something off?

  • Rest-of-2026 events refresh: added D.E.A.R. Hunting Shopping Day (Nov 7), Small Business Saturday (Nov 28), the Waconia Christkindlsmarkt holiday market (early December, 2026 dates TBA), and Deardorff Orchards apple season (Labor Day weekend–late October) to the events calendar.
  • Added /guides/apple-orchards-near-waconia — apple picking at Deardorff Orchards + Parley Lake Winery, with variety timing (SweeTango, Zestar!, Honeycrisp, Haralson).
  • Added /guides/waconia-christmas — the full holiday guide: Christkindlsmarkt, Tree Lighting, and November's shop-small days.
  • Editorial correction: Waconia Brewing Co. (closed January 2026) and Schram Haus Brewery (closed December 2025) removed from the directory and all recommendations; the weekly trivia night listing was retired. Added Parley Lake Winery and Deardorff Orchards listings in their place.
  • Refreshed the wineries & breweries day-tour (now Schram → Parley Lake → Sovereign → J. Carver), the fall and winter seasonal guides, best-of picks, and the dining roundup to reflect the 2026 craft-beverage lineup. 28 guides total.
  • Refreshed the two oldest guides: the Lake Waconia fishing guide now documents the lake's special walleye regulation (16-inch minimum, one over 20 inches) and biennial fingerling stocking, plus a late-summer transition note; the Lake Waconia complete guide picks up the Crappie Contest and current town references.
  • Activated the two in-content ad units on every guide page (real AdSense slot IDs added to adSlots.ts). Auto Ads continues to run site-wide.
  • Added /guides/waconia-wedding-venues — lakefront, vineyard, and golf-club wedding venues in and around Waconia (high-intent local content), cross-linked to 4 directory listings.
  • Added /guides/senior-living-in-waconia — a family's guide to care levels, what makes Waconia a fit (Ridgeview), costs, and how to verify communities through authoritative directories.
  • Added /waconia-facts — a structured, citation-ready facts sheet (population, ZIP, county, coordinates, Lake Waconia stats, history, events) with City + FAQPage + Speakable schema. Built as a GEO citation magnet for AI engines.
  • Added /guides/carver-county-fair — guide to the August fair (dates, what to see, tips), cross-linked to the event listing.
  • Added /guides/waconia-farmers-market — Thursday-evening market guide (June–September), cross-linked to the event listing.
  • Linked Waconia Facts in the footer and llms.txt; surfaced the new event guides from the summer seasonal rail. 24 guides total.
  • Added /guides/best-restaurants-in-waconia — a local's dining roundup (best overall, lakeside, breakfast, craft beer & wine, family) cross-linked to 11 directory listings.
