Lake Waconia Regional Park is a 164-acre Carver County park on Lake Waconia. It has the lake's public swim beach, a DNR public boat access, picnic areas, playgrounds and the Paradise Commons building. The park is open 6am to 10pm daily.

The Beach
The swim beach is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There have been no lifeguards since 2024, so swimming is at your own risk; keep children within reach and bring life jackets for weak swimmers. Pets are not allowed on the beach.
Boat Access
The DNR public access in the park has 36 trailer parking spaces and two boarding docks. Lake Waconia is infested with zebra mussels and Eurasian watermilfoil, so clean, drain and dry your boat and trailer before you leave. Other public accesses on the lake are listed on the DNR LakeFinder page.
Kayak, Paddleboard & Canoe Rentals
Carver County rents kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and canoes at the park on weekends from 11am to 4pm, roughly early June to mid-August. Rentals are first come, first served, and the minimum age is 12. Per the county's 2026 rates, kayaks and paddleboards are $15 an hour and canoes $10 an hour.
Pets
Pets are banned from the beach, playgrounds and picnic shelters at all times. Check Carver County's rules for leash requirements elsewhere in the park.
No Shore Fishing
Shoreline fishing is prohibited in the park. Fish from a boat, or check the DNR LakeFinder page for other access points.
